Partnered with an enterprise innovation team in a Fortune 100 company to explore emerging trends and signals about possible futures that could significantly impact customer needs, expectations, and the business in the next 5-10 years. Conducted a two-day workshop with a group of innovation product, design, and research leaders to dive deeply into relevant social, technological, economic, and environmental trends. Applied creativity tools to ideate on possible future customer solutions to experiment with.
Outcomes: Defined an innovation strategy including prioritized opportunity areas and roadmap of specific initiatives to drive forward over the next 12-24 months.
Conducted stakeholder discovery interviews and facilitated a workshop with operations executives to identify the time-intensive, manual activities that put the most strain on their teams’ ability to focus on more strategic, value-added initiatives. Explored emerging artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and ideated on possible AI-powered solutions to top employee and business needs.
Outcomes: Delivered a prioritized inventory of generative AI use case ideas, some of which advanced to technical proof of concept and production with the goal of increasing team productivity, reducing process cycle times, and enhancing employee engagement.

Partnered with mobile product and retail experience teams in a Fortune 100 company to drive the strategic design of consumer experiences that seamlessly blend digital and physical in-store interactions across a large retail footprint of 1000s of locations. Conducted a series of design sprints with a small cross-functional team to discover, design, test, and evaluate possible solutions.
Outcomes: Defined a multi-year development roadmap and activated a near-term pilot to test personalized welcome and wayfinding experiences on a consumer’s mobile device to elevate their interactions with in-store products, services, and retail staff.
Led an initiative with a cross-functional project team of product, operations, and risk managers to reengineer a critical enterprise business process that was stifling the pace of product development and innovation across a Fortune 100 company. Applied a human-centered, zero-based design approach to drive toward transformational impact.
Outcomes: Delivered a new process and enabling digital platform design that reduced average cycle times by over 100 days and decreased operating costs by $10s of millions annually, while enhancing employee experiences and risk management effectiveness.

Led a cross-business strategic design initiative to explore behavioral trends and discover opportunities to help banking consumers make financial decisions and plans that better support what matters most to them in life. Ran a series of design sprints to diverge on the possibilities and converge on desirable, viable, and feasible solutions to move forward.
Outcomes: Defined the product strategy – including north star vision, multi-year roadmap, MVP design and go-to-market plan – for personalized financial diagnostic and planning tools launched to 10s of millions of consumers across digital/mobile and physical channels, driving deeper engagement and elevating brand impact.
Partnered with an operations team responsible for collecting overdue payments on consumer lending balances to redesign the current collections process and experience in a way that would improve outcomes for both consumers and the business. Conducted consumer research, staff interviews, and business analysis to define top issues and pain points before diving deep into solution ideation and prototyping.
Outcomes: Delivered personalized messaging strategies and reimagined service model designs that offered help for consumers at their most vulnerable moments while increasing business performance against key financial metrics.

Designed and launched an invention creation program for a large financial institution that was looking to accelerate growth of its patent portfolio in strategic, forward-looking opportunity areas. Hired a nimble, multi-disciplinary team that engaged over 500 employees per year in collaborative invention sessions applying various creativity and strategic foresight tools.
Outcomes: Partnered with legal counsel to convert invention outputs into 100 to 200 patent applications per year, protecting future innovation and growth opportunities and propelling the company to become an IP leader in its industry.

Partnered with a global food and beverage company to design and deliver innovation and intellectual property (IP) development programs across numerous consumer brands and product categories in the U.S. and internationally. Trained internal innovation managers on competitive intelligence practices, creativity tools, and facilitation techniques.
Outcomes: Expanded employee engagement at the front-end of innovation, adding thousands of new ideas to the pipeline of new product, packaging, and marketing strategies.
Partnered with a large aerospace company to define growth strategies in market spaces adjacent to its core business that would increase returns on its substantial investments in Research & Development. Interviewed key leaders, analyzed the company’s portfolio of thousands of patents, and generated target market intelligence to define and size potential opportunities.
Outcomes: Defined over 20 specific opportunities to expand commercialization of key innovations across a diverse mix of technology areas. For each identified opportunity, defined internal teams of experts and external strategic partners needed to drive execution.
